Measuring an Eye - Eye Spring

Step 1. Measure along edge of main leaf following the curvature (ie. follow the curve of the top leaf) from the centre of eye (A) to the centre bolt hole (D).

Step 2. Repeat the same from the centre of eye (B) to the centre bolt (D).

Step 3. Measure the camber (C - D).

1. Measurement of Leaf ________________ (A - D)

2. Measurement of Leaf ________________ (B - D)

3. Camber of Spring ___________________ (C - D)

4. Width of Spring _________________

5. Number of Leaves ____________

6. Steel Thickness _____________

7. Diameter of Shackle Pins __________

8. Grease Pins Yes / No

9. Front or Rear Spring ___________ (For Tandem only)

10. Diameter of Centre Bolt ___________

Please Note: All other leaves are measured the same as the Main Leaf.
The Main Leaf is always No. 1 or the longest leaf.
A - D and D - B is measured following the curve of the spring.
Tandem Spring assemblies centre bolt is usually offset (ie. not in the centre of the spring).
